Writer's Block: Extra! Extra!

If you worked for a newspaper, which section of the paper would you like to write for, and why?

The movie review section, naturally! I've always wanted to be a film critic...

Writer's Block: The winning ticket

What would be your first purchase if you won the lottery?

It's lame, but I would pay off all my tuition for whatever college I pleased, while making sure I could move to and live in the UK(where my university would be) comfortably and happily. It'd really stick it to my dad lol. Then I'd feel horrible for being selfish, and give a shiteload of it to different charities. And if there's still some $ after that...I'd just hold on to it to live off, I guess.

Writer's Block: And now for something completely different

If you could change one thing about yourself, except for looks, what would it be?

I wish I had some really significant, outstanding talent. I'm too competitive that way, I suppose. No matter what, I just always see myself as being less talented - in any number of ways - than most other people. And if I were to hope for any special talent, it'd definitley be screenwriting/directing skill...

Writer's Block: Presto chango!

If you were a shapeshifter for one day, who would you embody and what would you do?

Easy. I'd embody some actor or director I really admire - Christopher Nolan would be spectacular - and just live their (working) life for a day. I'd love to experience what it's like to be a brilliant, big-time director/screenwriter before I dedicate my life to it LOL. Yet on a sillier note, maybe I would embody Ewan McGregor(or some other fave actor)'s wife for a day... ;)

Writer's Block: Missed it by that much

Which films got unfairly snubbed by the Academy this year, and why?

The only film I really feel got snubbed was The Town. Only a nomination for Jeremy Renner, really? He was brilliant, absolutely, and I totally don't begrudge him his nom, but I really, really feel it should've been up for a Best Picture. If not for Oscars, definitely for Golden Globe. Not that I think it would've won - with some of the competition like Inception, King's Speech, and Social Network(although I personally loathe that film) - but it really deserved nominations. Ben Affleck's directing was fantastic, the storyline was strong and moving, and the acting was brilliant all around. I really feel that The Town was one of the best, and most underrated, films of 2010.

Writer's Block: Timeless tales

What were your favorite books as a child, and why?

I was really big on about three different series: Phantom Stallion, Magic Treehouse, and Goosebumps. I have loveddd horses ever since I was a little girl, and the 'adventures' in the Phantom Stallion series were like dreams come true. Magic Treehouse was immensely fun and magical, and even a learning experience. Goosebumps were the best though. Just those words on a page would keep me up late nights, reading beneath the covers, so terrified by the images in my own mind, I was afraid to make the smallest whisper of a sound. Oh, those books kept me up with hundreds of illusions and nightmares, as did the films, but I could never get enough.

Writer's Block: Get those creative juices flowing

Who has most influenced you the most creatively, and how?

It's hard to name just one person, but I think Christopher Nolan has influenced me the most. Not my mother or father of long-dead-grandparent, but Christopher Nolan. Director, screenwriter, producer, and mind-f**k extraordinaire, he's everything I can ever hope to be. Peter Jackson is a huge influence as well, because of LOTR, but I love and am fascinated by every film of Chris's, which I can't entirely say for Peter... Anyway, as a hopeful one-day-filmmaker, Christopher Nolan is my greatest influence.

Writer's Block: Two words: Charlie Brown

If you celebrate Thanksgiving, do you have any favorite TV shows or events that you associate with this holiday? If so, why do you love them?

I generally watch as many Thanksgiving-themed episodes of 'Friends' as I can. Especially the one guest-starring Brad Pitt, it's great. Plus, what's better on Thanksgiving than Matthew Perry's sarcasm and anti-Thanksgiving spirit? lol.

Writer's Block: A real eye opener

Which one book should everyone read, and why?

Most simply, I'd have to say The Lord of the Rings. Because it's LOTR. It's the most epic and heart-felt tale of friendship and loyalty and adventure that there ever was. It might be a bit difficult to get through for some, but it's certainly worth it once you finish. But I'm also fantastically fond of The Children of Hurin, another novel by Tolkien. It's harsh and dark and depressing, but - for me anyway - really makes a mark somewhere inside.

Writer's Block: Trick or treat

Do you plan to dress up this year? If so, who or what are you going to be?

For something like six months, I've been planning to dress up as Scar from The Lion King. Now, because of my work schedule, I may not actually see my plan come to fruition - at least this year. But this year or next, I'm going to be a female version of Scar :)
